Short answer: Clemta costs $50 less in year one; our package costs $250 less every year after. Clemta Essentials is a $349 annual subscription that keeps an agent, an address, and reminders running. Our Non-US Founder Package forms a foreign-owned New Mexico LLC for $449 all in ($399 plus the state's $50) and renews only the agent, at $99. We sell that package, so this is a competitor's comparison.

What Clemta does well

  • Broad reach: founders from 170+ countries.
  • An address in the base plan: Essentials includes one, with three mail scans a year.
  • Room to scale up: Pro ($89 a month billed annually) adds federal tax filings and state reports; Premium ($240 a month) adds monthly bookkeeping.
  • Paperwork help: W-8, W-9, and 1099 management on Pro, and support with the BE-13 survey.
  • Flexible cancelling: plans auto-renew but can be cancelled.

The math for a New Mexico LLC

  • Year one: Clemta $399 ($349 + $50); our package $449 ($399 + $50).
  • Year two: Clemta $349; us $99.
  • Year three: Clemta $349; us $99.
  • Three-year total: Clemta $1,097; our package $647.
  • What the extra buys at Clemta: a mailing address and deadline reminders, which we don't sell.

How our package works

  1. Place one order with your company and ownership details.
  2. We prepare and file your New Mexico Articles of Organization online.
  3. The certificate of organization is uploaded to your dashboard.
  4. You sign the SS-4 electronically; we've filled it in per the IRS rules for foreign applicants.
  5. Once signed, your bank application for our partners is already complete, company documents attached. You give the approval, we send it, and the EIN catches up later. Approval is always our partners' call.
  6. The IRS gets the SS-4 by fax and usually issues the EIN in two to eight weeks.

Choose Clemta if

  • You want a business address and mail scanning bundled in.
  • You expect to add federal filings or bookkeeping to the same subscription.
  • BE-13 support matters to you.

Choose our package if

  • You'd rather pay $99 a year than $349 once the LLC exists.
  • You want your bank application drafted, not just guided.
  • New Mexico, with no annual report, is your state.

After formation in New Mexico

There's no annual report to file with New Mexico, only a registered agent and office to maintain. Federal tax is another story: Form 5472 commonly applies to single-member LLCs with a foreign owner, and gross receipts tax may too. Our package doesn't cover tax filing, so plan to work with a tax professional.

Common questions

What does Clemta cost for a New Mexico LLC?

Essentials is $29 a month billed annually, $349 a year, plus the state fee. In New Mexico that's $399 in year one and $349 each year after.

How does that compare with your package?

We're $50 more in year one ($449). From year two, you'd pay Clemta $349 and us $99, so by the end of year three we're $450 cheaper.

Does Clemta list New Mexico?

Its pricing page doesn't say which states it covers. Check New Mexico availability with Clemta before signing up.

Does Clemta explain EINs for owners without an SSN?

Every Clemta plan includes an EIN; how owners without an SSN get one isn't covered on its pricing page. Ours uses a faxed Form SS-4 that we prepare for you.

Do I need Clemta Pro's state report filing in New Mexico?

New Mexico LLCs have no annual or biennial report, so that part of Pro wouldn't apply. Pro's federal tax filing and 1099 help might.
